In celebration of the 500th meeting of The Arctic Circle (April 8, 2014), FIRST AIR donated Ottawa/Resolute return airfare for two student members. Melissa Nacke and Zoe Panchen, both graduate students at Carleton University, were selected to receive the tickets, which will be used to support their Arctic field research and outreach activities.  The Arctic Circle wishes to express its gratitude to FIRST AIR for its generous contribution.

Come and join us for our 2015 Annual Dinner on April 30. Guest of honour Ian Stirling, O.C., will present “Insights into the Natural History of Polar Bears and the Significance of Climate Warming”. Click here for more information.

Since 1947 the Arctic Circle has brought together friends who share a lively interest in the Canadian north for monthly presentations by members and guests, and on 8 April 2014 the Arctic Circle held a celebratory evening in honour of the 500th meeting.

The Circle’s membership includes many of Canada’s most distinguished arctic researchers, as well as those with a more informal interest in the north.

This site will introduce you to the organization and its members, and to one of the most fascinating regions of our planet. Enjoy your visit, and come visit us at our next gathering.
